Sometimes the following error can appear and is a little disconcerting:

The certificate for this server is invalid. You might be connecting to a server that is pretending to be “amp-api-edge.apps.apple.com” which could put your confidential information at risk.

Firstly, our apps don't collect any confidential information, so there is no confidential information risk from our our apps, but we do report errors like this as they can be useful if problems arise.

The usual cause of this is when your device is connecting via Wi-FI to a network that requires a sign in of some sort. I.e. your device has connected to the wireless network but doesn't yet have access. On these networks, any attempt to access a website or server will redirect to a sign-in (or captive portal). Of course this means that the usual SSL certificate for Apple will not be available and hence this error is displayed. Connecting to the network (or disconnecting Wi-Fi) will stop this message. You can verify whether this is the cause, or if it should be fixed, by trying to browse a regular website.

If you're seeing different behaviour, please do get in touch so we can work out what else might be causing this!

Happy puzzling!
